HP Photosmart Premium All-In-One Printer Review

Pro: Prints photographs nicely; Wireless.
Con: Very Slow Printing; Ink cartridges are expensive and do not last long.

Recommended? NO.

I purchased this all-in-one printer at Staples and spent over $250.00. I have had it for 1 year and 16 days (according to Hewlett Packard when I called for warranty service) - however, my records state I had it for less than a year. It just quit working this weekend. So, after spending a couple of hours on the internet typing HP customer service (mostly waiting for the HP representative to tell me what to try), it turns out the machine only needs a new power cord. They stated that they would email me with information to send them within the hour but over 72 hours later, I'm still waiting to hear anything from them. Definitely NOT recommended.

I will not buy another product from Hewlett Packard, simply due to this whole experience.

Lexmark X1185 All-In-One Printer Review

Pro: Inexpensive; Prints quickly; Ink lasts a long time.
Con: Scanning software is not the easiest to use.

Recommended? YES.

I purchased this all-in-one printer at Walmart for approximately $40.00. I have had this all-in-one printer for over 4 years and it is still working perfectly!

I had to take this one back from my child (it has been used for doing homework) and now I'm using this again to replace the more expensive HP Photosmart Premium printer that I bought last year.

My only major issue on this all-in-one printer is the scanning software is a bit tedious to use, but overall (for the price), it works well enough for me not to spend another $250 on a higher-priced all-in-one printer.

All-In-One Printer Reviews

Welcome to our site. Here you will be able to find a variety of different printers and information on where to buy those printers. With a large variety of choices, options and manufacturers, you will have enough information to make the best decision for your home, business or office printing needs.

Before you purchase an all-in-one printer there are some important factors that you should consider. Let’s look at the determining factors that will have a factoring role in which all-in-one printer you will choose to buy for your home, business or office.

Types of Printers:

The two main types of printers on the market today are: Laser printers and Ink jets. There are variations of each of these on the market. Before purchasing a new printer, you will want to make sure that whatever you choose will meet your specific printing needs. The main characteristics and differences between each of the printers is listed below:

Laser printers are generally the most expensive type of printer on the market. They work similar to an old Xerox copier with a drum. Laser printers have toner cartridges that will need to be replaced. One plus of laser printers are that they use toner cartridges. These toner cartridges may initially seem expensive but have the highest printing volume per cartridge. Another plus is that the price for laser printers has come down in recent years and has made them much more accessible for smaller- to medium-sized businesses and even home offices to own.

Inkjet printers are less expensive and you can generally pick one up for less than $55.00. Inkjets printers reproduce a digital image by spraying tiny droplets of liquid ink through multiple holes onto a sheet of paper in a systematically controlled way. With the recent technological advances, they are almost as good as a laser jet printer in quality. A big plus is that they can print high-quality color photographs. Ink jet printers are designed to appeal to small- and medium-sized businesses that want a low-cost, feature-rich printer. You will also find that the quality of newer inkjets are comparable to laser printers.

So, to make a good decision for your needs, you will need to take into consideration how much printing you actually will be doing with your printer, the cost of replacement ink or toner cartridges, and how quickly you need your work to be printed.

Volume and Cost of Replacement Ink/Toner Cartridges:

When looking to purchase replacement ink for your printer, you will find that generally, laser printers are the more cost-effective choice. The replacement toner cartridges far exceeds printing output versus normal ink cartridges for ink jets. It is very important that you get a printer that will meet your specific needs.

Ease of Use and Options Available:

Ease of use is another important factor to consider when you want to buy a printer. You need to be comfortable with the options of the specific printing model that you are thinking about buying. Options vary between each printer but include main features such as: scan, print, fax. Other features will be speed per page printing, quality of printing, pages per minute, just to name a few. Some printers have input jacks to be able to directly take cd's and memory cards. You should also think ahead to what future uses you may want to use it for.

Manufacture Warranty and Where to Buy:

When you are in the process of choosing printers, you will want to do your research and look at reputable companies that will help you, if you need it, after purchasing their product. You should check out if warranty service will be included, or if it will cost extra. Depending on where you purchase it, you will not be able to return a faulty printer after 15 days. So, be sure you are fully aware of what you are getting into before making your purchase.
